What’s New With the Heybike Hauler?

The Heybike Hauler cargo e-bike has three defining features that sets it apart from other models. These include the high payload capacity, the DIY pegboard (which lets you attach various accessories and cargo holders), and the ability to equip up to two batteries. It also features the same high-quality components that you would expect from Heybike.

Dual-Battery

The dual battery design enables you to ride further than ever before. Equipped with a 48V 18Ah (864Wh) embedded battery and a 48V 12.5Ah (600Wh) external battery, the Hauler can travel up to 85 miles on a single charge. Also, when you use only the throttle, you can ride up to 85 miles on a single charge. So, if you have a long ride ahead but no energy to pedal, the Hauler will still take you far.

There is also a single-battery version available. It has a 48V 18Ah (864Wh) embedded battery and can travel up to 55 miles on a single charge. Both batteries are UL 2849 certified, which assures you that your electric bike meets the highest safety, performance, and reliability standards.

Heavy-Duty Capacity

As well as being able to travel long distances on a single charge, the Hauler has a total payload capacity of 440 lbs. This is 40 lbs more than the Ranger S and Heybike Brawn electric bike, which previously held the record for our highest total payload capacity.

To facilitate the extra carrying capacity, the Hauler has two built-in cargo racks – one on the front, the other on the back. You can use these racks to transport all sorts of things, from groceries and camping supplies to even a child passenger.

Another standout feature is the DIY pegboard. Located on the back, the pegboard works just like a wall pegboard. Using the slots on both sides, you can attach accessories and cargo holders. For example, you can have carry baskets on both sides, where one basket stores groceries and the other stores your e-bike equipment (bike lock, water bottle).

750w Hub Motor

The 750w hub motor, with a 1400w peak output, can reach up to 28 mph. It can also produce up to 80Nm of torque, which provides the acceleration you need to conquer steep ascents and light off-road terrain. 

20”x3” Fat Tires

Measuring 20 inches (diameter) and 3 inches (width), the Hauler’s tires provide excellent shock absorption on flat and light off-road terrain. Whether you are taking the kids to school or making an urgent delivery, fat tires let you ride over more varied terrain and optimize your routes.

You can ride the tires at lower tire pressure than 16-inch tires, which helps minimize the amount of force transferred from the point of impact to you (the rider). Plus, the 3-inch width covers a wide surface area, making it easy to maintain balance – especially during cornering.

Shimano 7-Speed Drivetrain

The Shimano 7-speed drivetrain delivers smooth and reliable gear shifting, enabling you to quickly adapt to any riding situation. With up to 7 gear positions, you can easily fine-tune the amount of resistance that you get from the pedals. Plus, the rust-resistant treatment helps prolong the life of the gear system.

Hydraulic Disc Brakes

Using a sealed fluid system to transfer braking force from the lever to the caliper, the Hauler delivers a smooth and responsive braking experience. Use the lever to precisely adjust the desired braking force. Whether you need to gently glide downhill or avoid a potential hazard, the hydraulic disc brake system safely stops you in your tracks.

Wide and Comfortable Saddle

Achieve the perfect balance of comfort and stability with the Hauler’s saddle. The breathable hollow design helps improve air circulation, keeping your legs and hips dry, and the extra width reduces pressure on the hips. 

Hydraulic Front Suspension

Designed to absorb shocks and bumps, the front fork suspension allows you to ride over varied terrain comfortably. From flat terrain and loose gravel to mud, you can conquer whatever comes your way. And you can adjust the suspension system to suit your needs. For example, you can adjust the rebound to control how quickly the fork springs back after impact, preventing the bike from feeling too ‘bouncy’.

Automatic Headlight

When riding in low visibility, you want to be able to see and be seen by others. When riding in low light, the Hauler’s headlights automatically switch on, saving you the trouble of turning on the headlight yourself. You also avoid the risk of riding in dangerous conditions without a reliable light source.

Connect the Hauler to the Heybike companion app to enhance your riding experience.
